ArtKlub is a group of friends who are local Northern Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Washington DC artists that meet weekly for fun, self-education and encouragement, and to obtain critiques and try vet new ideas.   Sometimes we're pencil to paper, sometimes we're discussion and goofing off.  We are there to create, inspire, and share.  We help hold each other accountable to making deadlines for commissions, when asked to do so.           In 2001 I studied Chinese calligraphy at the Smithsonian Resident Associates with an artist from Shanghai. That summer I enrolled in Chinese language courses at the Northern Virginia Community College. I have been studying Chinese ever since. In 2010 I completed a graduate program at the Hopkins- Nanjing Center (HNC).
